Avery Brewing Night on Thursday, December 14th
AVERY BREWING NIGHT THIS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14TH, 2006. I will have four Avery Beers on draft. They will be…drumroll please……
Czar (Russian Imperial Stout at 12.2%)
Hog Heaven (Barleywine at 9.2%)
Reverend(Belgian Quadruple at 10%)
Salvation (Belgian Strong Pale at 9%)
I will also be doing a special on Avery bottles…I will be selling them at vastly reduced prices for a full week. The bottles I have are the Reverend, Czar, The Beast Grand Cru and Mephistopheles. As you can see, Adam Avery is allergic to low alcohol beers, so please be careful and prepare appropriately.
Lot’s o’ news from San Marcos. I can’t believe this year is almost done. The big news, of course, is that one of our own is leaving us. Big Sarah aka Bettie Page is leaving for greener pastures. Her lust for great beer(and men) is taking her back to Oregon. We are having a going away party for her on Friday, December 15th at approximately 8:00pm. Come one and come all and see her off(I’m sure she won’t say no if you buy her a drink also). For those of you that know Sarah, her alter-ego Barb should be arriving around 8:30pm.
Beer news!! Sierra Nevada Celebration and Alesmith Evil Dead Red are back on!! Lot’s of great beer stacking up in the keg room. Look for Lagunitas Imperial Red, Deschutes Mirror Pond and Hop Trip, Green Flash Imperial IPA and Belgian Tripel, Firestone-Walker Double Barrel Ale, Alesmith Winter Yulesmith, Port Brewing’s Poorman Double IPA, and once that Hennepin goes, the Delirium Noel!!
As you can see, I’ve added a link to the website on my email signature as I have been updating the draft list on the fly.
Bottle news….I’ve picked up a very small amount of Firestone-Walker 10th Anniversary Ale. This is probably one of the most complex beers I have ever tasted. I have a very limited supply, so if you want to try it, I’d do it soon. I am trying to procure some more, but no promises. I’ve slowly rounding out the Lost Abbey collection here as I picked up Avant Garde, for those that didn’t catch it on draft, it is a beautiful french farmhouse ale.
Cask news..after a couple week cask drought, I have a couple of doozies lined up. Look for Green Flash’s Imperial IPA, Port’s Poorman Double IPA, Stone Brewing’s 10th Anniversary Double IPA. These will also be listed on the website when I bring them on. I usually tap casks on Thursday afternoons, so that would be the time to check the website. I will tap Green Flash’s Imperial IPA tomorrow!!
Due to a serious calculation error on my part, I think I ended up ordering about half the Chimay gift packs in the western United States. While I might tend to exaggerate just a bit, this is good for you. My loss is your gain(don’t worry, I won’t be selling cars anytime soon). So for the holidays, buy your loved one(or yourself) a Chimay Gift Pack for $13.92 ($15 w/ tax) . You get 3 330ml of Chimay, one of each variety(Tripel, Strong Dark, and Dubbel) and a beautiful Stemmed Glass. I will also have the Wychwood Hobgoblin gift sets which are comprised of a bottle of Hobgoblin and an etched pint glass. The price is still to be determined on that one
