Great beer and a radio plug from Stone’s CEO!!

http://www.kpbs.org/radio/programs/these_days?id=6076 is the link if you want to hear the interview regarding the San Diego beer scene. They also featured a beer called Pure Hoppiness from Alpine Brewing. The perfect segue(the first definition, not the failed personal transportation device!!) into…..

Churchill’s Pub and Grille welcomes Alpine Brewery into the fold of fine beer that we carry here. After a year of asking(begging), Pat has finally brought over some beer for us(he was sick of my whining). We are the first North County Inland account to carry Alpine beer. Alpine Brewing company has fast become one of the biggest award winning breweries in the county. We are lucky as Alpine’s production is very limited and it is very popular. We have their Mandarin Nectar on draft right now and this is a medal winner in the Honey Ale category. We almost blew through the first keg last night, we have one more so come down and try it before it is gone(this weekend). I can’t make any promises, but we will have more great Alpine beer soon, and possibly a cask if we’re lucky.

This year has flown by so quickly. I am currently in the process of planning the next pub crawl and the next beer dinner/tasting. I apologize for not doing another dinner sooner, time just keeps on slipping by. The new website is up!! It is still in the propagation phase, so it is not too exciting yet. That will change soon as I get the calendar and blog up and running.

Starting this Sunday, we are going to have $3.00 draft beers all day long!! Not only can you watch your favorite NFL games live, you can drink some of the best beer in the world for $3.00. This applies to everything on draft.

Friday October 20th, we are doing a Reaper Ale/Green Flash night. I will have 3 Reaper Ales on draft and possibly one on cask. We will probably do a t-shirt and glassware promotion. I will give more details as it gets closer.

I don’t have the date yet, but Churchill’s will be the first to unveil Lightning Brewery’s Imperial Porter…on cask no less!! This will also be a t-shirt and keep the glass night. If you haven’t tried their beer yet, we carry their Kolsch and Thunderweisen on draft. If I didn’t know better, I’d think Poway was a suburb in Bavaria!! These are both great light, easy drinking beers.

It is also nigh time to do another massive Stone Brewing t-shirt, glassware promotion. What the hey…let’s throw some great beer in there somewhere too!! They always have something great percolating over there, so stay tuned for details.
