Lot’s o new brew!!
We have finally gotten our rotation handles off to a good start. We have some unbelievable stuff on right now. Avery’s Maharaja Imperial IPA has been a huge hit. About 15-20 people from Stone Brewing drank half the keg last night(you know who you are!!). If you want to try this over the top IPA, you’d better get to it soon(today or tomorrow if you’re lucky). After that keg goes, we are putting on Stone Brewing’s 10th Anniversary Ale. This is a double IPA and rumor on the street is that it is quite a beer. Thanks to Port Brewing for the cask of Wipeout IPA. This is my first experience with it in a cask, and oh boy, what a treat! Quite hoppy but a very smooth finish. This was put on Thursday afternoon and I think it is more than half gone. Again, I’d be surprised if it lasts past Friday night. For those of you that missed Stone’s Smoked Porter with Chipotle peppers, I have two words. Neener Neener. It was quite well done and quite different. We have Green Flash’s Third Anniversary Belgian Tripel on draft also. I’ve been told by the brewery that I’m the only one with this beer on draft in the country!! It is quite a treat and won’t last long. We still have Lost Abbey’s Avant Garde on draft. This beer is growing in popularity over here and one of my current favorites. Let’s all be honest with each other. When’s the last time you’ve had a French Farmhouse style beer? I thought so. Get your derriere down here and try it. As far as I know, we have the last 2.5 kegs of Greene King IPA on the west coast. This is an English IPA, very low in alcohol and quite easy drinking. Believe it or not, I have about 5 gallons of Sapporo left. I must have been on a sushi bender when I brought that on.
Remember, football is season is almost here(not this preseason crap). I had to sell my last kidney to get the NFL package, so I better see all of you here to watch your favorite teams in high definition on our plasmas. You have to help pay for my dialysis machine.
I’m bringing in ribs for this weekend, so look for slow cooked barbeque rib specials this weekend. The Beef Wellington will be back soon!!
You should all check out the Stone 10th Anniversary party on September 9th. There is going to be quite a bit of hoopla and all the proceeds benefit quite a few charities. I thank at last count there were something like 3 billion breweries attending (I might be slightly off, but that is my usual rounding error). On a more serious note, they really are supporting some great causes. You can drink some world class beer while helping people in need. I call that a win-win.
