Beer Week Shenanigans!

Dear Pubfolk,

San Diego Beer Week is nearly upon us! I apologize for not getting our events out in a timely manner. Our fabulous beverage coordinator Jordan Wilson is the proud father of a baby girl and has been off(that’s a good excuse if I’ve ever heard one!). So we’re a little behind on everything. Don’t worry however, we’ve put together nine days of fabulous beer and food.

Friday, November 1 – Rip Current and FM 94/9
Beer week launch event with Rip Current Brewing and 94/9! FM 94/9 will be broadcasting here live for Rock and Roll Happy Hour and we’ll have some of the Rip Current crew here with a bunch of specialty kegs! We’ll be pouring Wave Rye-der Session IPA, Lupulin Lust IPA, In the Curl IIPA, Caught in a Rip Triple IPA, Western Swell Weizenbock, Vanilla Storm, Hazardous Hazelnut and a couple more new specialties!! Of course we’ll have some amazing food specials to complement the beers.

Saturday, November 2 – Mother Earth!
We will be helping Mother Earth celebrate their expansion and new distribution with some great specialties. Bourbon Barrel aged Por Que No? Imperial Brown on Nitro, Wild Child wine barrel aged brett brown, Wet Hop Dreams III fresh hopped Mosaic IPA, Cali Creamin Vanilla cream ale and more!

Sunday, November 3 – Ballast Point Brunch!
We’ll have a bunch of specialty Ballast Point beer including some fun casks of Victory at Sea.. coconut? yes! bourbon barrel soaked oak? yes! We’ll have some other barrel aged specialties along with Nitro Sculpin and Nitro Dorado! We’ll have a bunch of killer brunch items available as well!

Monday, November 4 – Sierra Nevada
We’ll be pouring a bunch of specialty Sierra Nevada beers including some cool casks!

Tuesday, November 5 – Bear Republic Beer Dinner w/ Dan!
We’ll be having a ticketed dinner with some amazing Bear Republic specialties. $65 Tax and Tip Inclusive. We’ve sold quite a few tickets already and space is limited! Call or stop in to buy tickets.

Course 1: Tartare w/ Lemon Broiled Mussels
Green lipped mussels topped with a lemon and white wine bread crumb crust and broiled then drizzled with saffron butter.

Course 2: Cuvee de Bubba w/ cherry smoked beef brisket
USDA Prime beef brisket smoked with cherry wood and glazed with a raspberry balsamic BBQ sauce served on a sweet potato puree

Course 3: Churchill X w/ Kimchi fried rice ball
Spicy kimchi fried rice ball that is Panko breaded and fried filled with Sriracha pork belly and scallions.

Course 4: Olde Scoutter’s w/ Venison Bourguignon
French venison stew made with cremini mushrooms, onions, brandy, potatoes and fresh herbs.

Course 5: Old Baba Yaga w/ 5 spice chocolate creme brulee
5 spice chocolate creme brulee dusted with powdered sugar and topped with coffee whipped cream and seasonal berries.

Wednesday, November 6 – Night of Yeti Madness!
Our local Great Divide rep will be here along with a massive number of specialty Yetis! We have Espresso, Chocolate, Oaked, Belgian and a couple of surprise CASKS of specially prepared Yeti! It’s wing night, so prepare for the madness with a specialty Yeti wing sauce!

Thursday, November 7- Crooked Stave dinner w/ brewer Chad!
We will have a 3 course dinner with some great Crooked Stave specialties. The dinner with the brewer will be limited to about 20 people, but we’ll have the pairings available to the general public as well! It’ll be priced at $50 all inclusive. We are still formulating the menu. I’ll email out when it is finalized. Call or stop in to buy tickets.

Friday, November 8- Avery Rare Bottle Night!
The lovely Katie Barnes of Avery Brewing will be here and you’ll be able to taste some amazing beers! We’ll have Bad Apple on draft(soured Belgian pale ale with Granny Smith Apples) along with Czar, Old Jubilation. Bottle pours will be Ross’s’s Melange, Momi Hiwa, Thensaurum, Rumpkin, Uncle Jacob’s Stout and Mephistopheles.

Saturday, November 9 – Lost Abbey
We will have the lovely Gwen Conley here with a brewer or two and pouring a slew of wonderful beer. Angels Share, Deliverance, Gift of the Magi, Mo Betta Bretta, Carnevale, and some surprises? Of course we’ll have some food specialties!

Sunday, November 10 – Iron Fist Brunch!
Like every beer week, we sign off of beer week with Brandon Sieminski and Iron Fist. We’ll have a slew of specialties along with a specialty pairing brunch menu! We’re still getting the list together!
