Lagunitas Beer Dinner 5/1! Meet the brewer of Rodenbach 5/2!

Well we survived March and we’re almost half way through April. Thanks to all of you that came in for Renaissance and St. Patrick’s Day. It was all a blur and we usually need a month to recharge! Thanks again to Tomme Arthur and the rest of the crew at Port/Lost Abbey for making us a wonderful beer in “Churchills Finest Hour”. It is still available here in the bottle for in house consumption only.

The Craft Beer Conference is back and that means a lot of brewers from all over the world will converge on Beer City, USA. That allows us to have events in succession that we normally wouldn’t be able to. People have been pleading with us to have another beer dinner and we have listened! Culinary Prestidigitator A.G. Warfield is at it again. We will host Lagunitas on Tuesday, May 1st at 6pm. There are a couple of super special beers we might be getting our hands on that might change things up a bit. We are charging $55 a head all inclusive. You can purchase seats at the pub. We want to make this a small dinner so we are limiting this to 30 people. Tickets are available at the pub. The preliminary menu is as follows and is subject to change.

Course #1: Lil Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale
Apricot & grilled peach salad
Fresh apricots and grilled fresh peaches over arugula and spring mix with wheat croutons and peach vinaigrette

Course #2: Wilco Tango Foxtrot
Chocolate chipotle filet skewers
Tender filet cubes grilled to perfection resting on popped barley and drizzled with a chocolate chipotle red pepper sauce

Course #3: Hop Stoopid
Mango fire prawn
Jumbo prawns butter poached and topped with a spicy mango salsa and pineapple honey drizzle

Course #4: Oaked Imperial Red Ale
Smoked stuffed pork chop
Prime double cut pork chop stuffed with raspberry stuffing then smoked with oak and cherry wood chips. Served with bacon Brussels sprouts and creamy polenta

Course #5: Bourbon barrel aged Gnarlywine
Reconstructed caramel apple
Stewed apple mixed with caramel then battered and fried, tossed in powdered sugar and topped with a bourbon caramel

Meet the brewer night on May 2nd! The head brewer of Rodenbach will be here and we will be pouring Rodenbach Original as well as Grand Cru on draft. We’ll also have Palm and a smattering of Boon Lambics on draft as well!
