Stone Anniversary, Firestone Walker Night, Bruery Beer Dinner, Peter Reeves Memorial Sour Fest!

A lot of great events coming up in the next month! We’re a little late with some of the details, but it has been a hectic summer! It’s really run away from us!

Congratulations to Stone Brewing on their 15th Anniversary. They are celebrating this Saturday at Cal State San Marcos. As usual, we’ll be putting some amazing beers on this Saturday to help them celebrate. We’ll have Stone IRS 2011, Cali-Belgique, Double Dry Hopped Ruination IPA, Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean on cask as well as some other Stone specialties. We also have 40 more specialty drafts to offer just in case! We will have the smoker working the whole night before so expect lots of smoked goodness available that whole day!

We are doing a Firestone Walker night on Friday, August 26th. We are tapping a slew of specialties including a keg of Parabola Imperial Stout. We will be doing a keep the pint night with some of the other beers like Union Jack IPA, Walker’s Reserve Porter, Unfiltered DBA. Double Jack oaked IPA will be making an appearance along with Dave Kachorek, our friendly local Firestone-Walker rep. Parabola will be tapped no sooner than 6 pm!

Our latest beer dinner is with The Bruery on Tuesday, September 6th. We are excited to have Patrick Rue down with a bunch of his phenomenal beers. We will be pouring Tart of Darkness, Autumn Maple, Saison Rue, Snickelfritz and, for dessert, Cuir. We are going to pair them with goat cheese stuffed chocolate covered cherries in a red wine reduction sauce, apple yam soup with cinnamon croutons and curried crème fraiche, wild boar ribs basted with a sweet and spicy glaze with braised Belgian endives, crispy orange duck with candied grapefruit zest, and a brownie caramel cheese cake. We are again limiting the size of the dinner. This one is going to be $75 tax and tip inclusive. Sign up at the restaurant and don’t dawdle! The tickets are going to go quickly.

Our 2nd Annual Peter Reeves Memorial Sourfest is set for Saturday, September 17th. Our good friend Peter helped us source a lot of our sour kegs well before our first event. We are proud to lend his name to our event(he loved his sours!) and a portion of the proceeds will be going towards cancer research. Like last year, we will have a bunch of special food menu items. I’ll tease a partial list. Allagash Interlude, Deschutes Dissident, Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga, Karl Strauss bourbon barrel aged Flan-diddly-anders, Lost Abbey Red Poppy, New Belgium La Folie, New Belgium La Terroir, New Belgium/Allagash Vrienden, Ommegang Aphrodite, Rodenbach Vintage 2008, Russian River Consecration batches 2 and 6, Russian River Sanctiication, Russian River Temptation, Russian River Supplication, The Bruery Marron Acidifie and the list goes on!
